There were plenty of seemingly good reasons to believe that the market could sustain the high levels of last spring. In retrospect they were baloney

Exuse me, but you sound like Alan Greenspan now. Knowing something in retrospect is completely useless because you can't avoid the damage that will occur post-facto. A lot of people knew that it was a bubble and that the consequences would be dire (we haven't seen 1/10 of the consequences yet, trust me). Just go to www.prudentbear.com to see a history.

I made plenty of money on the long side too Chris, I was one of the most bookmarked stock pickers on Silicon Investor. I became bearish and advocated a cash position for longs in early April after losing about 30% of my highly leveraged assets when the Nasdaq fell from 5,000 to low 4000's - luckily, I was out the day we went to 3650 intraday and was warning people in the days before; I transferred my remaining assets to Energy and Tobacco (top peforming sectors last year), which have been duly noted in my profile as my investment picks since mid last year.

So I think before you make a quick an assessment about me, know the WHOLE Record which proves I am here to make money, and I was here to be the designated driver home when the party was over. But you can't help drunken, addicted gamblers, that's what I found out.

Arrogance belongs to those who were lambasting me last year; I think my behavior is better described as pure Revenge.
