HJM,re:"AMZN...busto". Never mind AMZN. AG just said
the 'stock market' has no relationship to economy, or
something like that.

"Greenspan said it is too early to determine if the latest stock woes could alone cause a U.S. recession."

Either AG is in denial or he is telling us the whole
truth and nothing but the truth: Stock is just
consumer non-durable product, collector's item (like
diamond, furs, painting/arts), it's nice to have and
not necessity.

The fact of the matter is: there is still a lot of jobs
created by pushing 'nice wallpapers'.

Glenn, I don't think Amzn will go busto, but that's just my opinion.
I also didn't think my SunW stock would drop 12 points since I bought it!

First off, I believe SUNW is getting ready to move up. I believe it will be slow but sure and if I did not have to buy it on margin, I would buy some.

As to Amazon, may channel checks indicate they are running below their lowered revenue guidance. I anticpate they will blame this on the eocnomy but Wal-Mart, BKS and others are doing well in the retail sector. The weak area is durable goods which Amazon does not sell.

Let's not beat this to death but if I am accurate that Amazon will not start showing zero growth and the terms for vendors tighten, busto will occur. I am quite sure of it actually. Buster will occur with a Chapter 11 and they will be back selling their bread and butter of books, music and video. That is my projection and I expect to see that no later than spring of 2002.
