Jungleinvestor, hello.

I've heard of DeGolyer & MacNaughton, and I believe they are well thought of. I haven't heard of the other outfit, but anybody who predicts 9 billion recoverable as a minimum, based on a limited number of appraisal wells(I'm guessing 1 or 2?) - probably still has his day job selling internet IPO's.

Bear in mind the hooplah surrounding the Caspian play right now, on a comparatively unambiguous simple structure in a easily identified stratigraphic basin, has been estimated at 20-40 billion barrels, based on structure size. But You'll notice the players have been mum about reserve size estimates - until they get a few wells in. Even with the mystery, the discovery has been given a lot of press, hasn't it?

Be Careful Out There.
