Shorts in MRVC have to cover prior to LMNE spinoff. As I understand it, they would possibly have to deliver LMNE shares with their covering if they stay short - as well as not getting any spinoff shares. This may be a tactic to cover MRVC or even go long, but still keep MRVC down - until they are done and ready to let it go up. 6 million short shares are related to the convertible debt (thats when the short interest rose initially), so they (the non convertible related shorting) may now have already covered. All IMO, of course.
