I think I can almost guarantee that NUFO won't warn, but the market will punish NUFO until their next earning announcement.

I suspect that NUFO is being hit because the street feels they will be reducing estimates for 2001. The following is from CEUnterberg yesterday, probably the catalyst for the extreme move (as opposed to AVNX -- which really has little in common with NUFO). My guess is NUFO will probably stay somewhat weak till management gives updated guidance.

Maintaining Strong Buy We had a chance to catch up with the management of New Focus and our
feeling is that more than likely, revenues and estimates for 2001, may have to be reduced, as a
result of Nortel and the subsequent impact on other customers like Corning. We believe that Nortel
is a 9% customer for circulators used in conjunction with fiber bragg gratings. Corning is a 10%
customer. The company is currently in the process of gathering all the data points.
