That is sort of what it felt like. I found out, long after the fact, that a guy I had been friendly with in college had been "after me". It turned out that he had convinced himself that I was gay on the basis that I did not have a girlfriend at the time. The strange thing is that I was dating a girl, but since it was not serious, never brought her up on the occasions I ran into him.......
