that would require digging up stuff. for instance, he held a speech before the Belgian bankers association a few years ago where he hinted that the fiat system isn't exactly an ideal solution. that's one occasion i remember right away.

and then there's he's famous essay written in the 60's...'gold and economic freedom' in which he came out strongly in favor of a gold standard.
