In a perverse way, minimum wage laws may juice productivity. Outlawing low economic value jobs forces management to find other ways other than hiring people to get the work done. Maybe they'll find out the work didn't really need to be done in the first place.

One thing is clear though. Minimum wage laws do nothing to help people looking for unskilled work except maybe forcing them to get some skills (Hey, another productivity gain).
