Excellent post, imo.

I know he isn't supposed to be proactive, but his lack of dynamics in tailoring his rate drops to predicting future numbers rather than in reaction to the past is beyond me. Then to somehow, in hindsight, say it was "unpredictable" annoys me also.

Nary a mention today about the number of layoffs recently and that effect on the economy and particularly consumer spending. It would not surprise me at all for him in four months to say: "This lack of consumer spending has continued due to layoffs in January and February. These consumers are not spending as much as when they had jobs. This was unforeseen by most market observers". ARGH!

I know it's pick on Greenspan day but over the last year or two I have agreed with him about.... never!!

Hi Cush,
Scary isn't it, the media & most of the globe worship him & think that he walks on water...

He should of retired when he had the chance... he could of gone out in a blaze of glory...but, no, he wanted one more kick @ the can...

Sounds like many athletes (investors?), that I have known, just give me one more chance....

Regards,
Peter
