I am not talking in terms of revenues and/or sales. Some of the etoys registered users (and other companies like it that are dying down) are likely to become Amazon users. That's the benefit I was talking about.

There are not enough to matter which explains the demise of Etoys. Not really an issue.

One thing that you cannot deny is technically the site itself if compelling and user friendly. Their fullfilment operations are robust compared to any of the major competetors.

No question about. It is the best I have ever seen. I am not of the believe Amazon's site or otehr parts of their operation is bad. My premise of trouble was first valuation during the mania which was the cause of my initial move to short. Then Bezos became too full of himself and ruined an excellent idea. There is nothing wrong with being a well run on-line seller of various media products. That was a great start and there was no need to go beyond that at least until there were profits from that area.
