Just got back from the Cayman Islands. It seemed very strange that most of the other tourists there were very well informed on energy matters. For instance...

A lady I met works for a major oil company in Alaska. She said they are more than tripling their rig presence there. We talked for several hours and her opinion of the California debacle is that it is going to last for years. The NG pipeline they are proposing would take over 3 years to construct.

Also talked to a couple whose son works for a pipeline company. They are planning a NG pipeline from Wyoming to California. Was told it will take an absolute minimum of 2 years to implement, assuming it is even approved.

I learned more about what the energy industry is doing in a one week vacation than in three months of active research!
