Hey, all you need to do is go to www.ulc.org and you, too, can become a legally ordained minister, free. Then set up your own church program and go for the gold. I would think the LWP congregation of the ULC could come up with some pretty good ways of spending a few million federal dollars, couldn't we? Shall we have a contest? The easy ones are likely to be pretty well taken care of -- food banks, homeless shelters, DV victim programs, legal aid. Surely we can come up with something more creative here? Oh -- I don't think straight environmental programs will count for this funding. So environmentalists will have to get more creative -- perhaps a workfare program restoring wetlands? Meanwhile, who wants to volunteer to be our good Reverend Doctor? (The reverend is free from ulc, the PhD will cost you $20.)
