OT-
I was out surfing during the Seattle trembler and at the same time the earth
was shaking there I was smacking into it! I took a wave at slightly the
wrong place at the right time and was dropped at high speed onto a reef and
tumbled. Lacerated my right leg & both hands and a few bruises but I wasn't
leaking enough to bring in the sharks so I kept surfing. I smashed the tip of the surfboard too but me & the board can be patched & are OK. I would have been safer being in Seattle.

When I got home I had all these messages about a big Seattle quake from friends & family there.

I went online to read the CNN news to get the gist.
My brothers (Roger Sherman) place in north Seattle rocked
enough to break a bunch of glass items that fell off mantles & shelves.

I remember the Seattle 65 quake well. Sitting in Junior High and I was
the first to call out "It's an earthquake-everyone get under your desk" Then
our teacher said "Yes, get under your desks!". The cutest girl in the class
looked over at me with big scared eyes from under her desk and asked if she
could get under mine with me and she did. I watched the clock as the quake
got worse and timed it at 52 seconds I think. It stopped just seconds short
of twisting the walls apart. It was a 6.4 or so.

My portfolio, play time and home town are all on the rocks these days, must be in the stars,
