Just a thought,

Storage of gas and crude are running at historical low levels. Imports are what they are do not impress if you are looking for an increase. This at a time of US national production of primarily oil down in the cellar.

Is the US in a "just to consumer" mode less than "just in tank"? Looks like it ie any oil that is available is used pretty damned quick and hell the buffer. This would not be so suprising ie I feel like a fool for even bringing it up.

Refineries percentages of utilization are given on a weekly basis by API and DOE but whats in a percent? Productivity is way up on 10-20 years ago so it´s all relative ie how much more is 90% of capacity worth today as opposed to 10 years ago? A lot..

The theory is that the US is using all the oil it can get it´s hands on and does not have the capacity to store one iota. All future "big wig" plans about opening up Alaska etc are at least, at least 5 years down the road.. The country´s energy needs grow and import in a corresponding amount.

WTI contracts for 2001 are running at an average of around $27 right now yet there is talk of a slow down in the economy.. Whats wrong with this picture? *G*
