The key will be earnings and reduced forward looking expectation at earnings time.
I suspect forward looking guidance to be pretty bad.

You will know the bottom is in when the market stats to react positively to bad news...

IMHO again...we should be within 10-15% of A bottom, he said bravely and foolishly.

Kash,

ALTR forward guidance yesterday was murky at best. That's why I am surprised there wasn't a stronger reaction today. They all but said they have no visibility and the CFO was almost flip in his comments.

Could be it will do a slow dive over the next few weeks.

As for bottom calling, I think people are giving up trying to make a call. So many false bottoms have been called over the last 8 mos. that the whole notion has become absurd.

Kash,

You may know that XLNX warned after the bell today. They said they have 7 mos. of inventory as opposed to ALTR's 8 mos.

Do you know how two companies ended up with so much inventory when companies are supposed to be operating under the just-in-time inventory control system?

TIA.
