That's pretty much the way I see it, too. You had EFNT bought by Siemens, you had Xircon bought by INTC, etc. Role players will realize they have to be part of a bigger team, or else die. Consolidation and attrition.
If the last two years are any indication, being patient and selective, even just a few trades a year can, or least have, paid off big. Focus. And be ready.
I still think the short side, for a shrewd trader, has the bigger payoff. But if SUNW (or something similar) went to 10 one day for some squirrelly reason, I'd take the bat off my shoulder.
That's my favorite Warren Buffett line: Don't forget, you can stand there for as long as you want. But Wall Street has to keep pitching.
