I can see you very clearly as a Tom Sawyer- or a Scout. Something some of us noticed early on here at DAR was that our childhoods were once removed in some way from the norm. For instance, I had rheumatic fever and spent months with a tutor, and Lather had a cultural chasm, and some were abused, just things that made us watchers and not always participants.. not always in bad ways- I think of most of my childhood as ideal-- but just different.
