>it just isn't fair to the rest of the rats here..... <

I don't know about anyone else who might post here, but I don't consider myself one of "the rats". I guess you are referring to a drowning rat?!? Do you feel that anyone who posts here "blindly" follows and buys every stock idea that is mentioned?

IMO the messages posted on this board as well as other SI boards are for the purpose of "thinking through" various investments, and trying to evaluate individual decisions that we've all made about our portfolios. As individuals all of us need to be responsible for our own investment decisions. Sometimes we might make fantastic choices, which turn out to be financially rewarding. At other times, we might make choices which in the near term seem to be poor choices, but in the long term these investments might be very profitable. We are the only ones who can make these choices for ourselves....since everyone has different investment needs, and different tolerance for risk. Some of us may choose stocks which offer a much higher risk, with the end result providing a much higher return on that investment....that type of investment decision is not for most people.

You have often mentioned diversification....an important subject that needs to be an individual decision. What constitutes a diversified portfolio for you....and for the needs of your family are not necessarily the same factors that I might consider. Investing, being diversified, and deciding on "the big picture" of the Internet build out and the priorities of investments in this area is an individual decision.

With our current market I'm sure almost everyone is seeing a decrease in their "net worth"....even if it is a decrease of their "paper net worth". We are all feeling like we're in the latest "Survivor" episode. Maybe it is time to stop and be thankful for a few things:

Message 15422553

"I am thankful:

for the teenager who is not doing dishes but is watching TV, because that means he is at home and not on the streets.

for the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed.

for the mess to clean after a party, because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.

for the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have enough to eat.

for my shadow that watches me work, because it means I am out in the sunshine.

for a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing, because it means I have a home.

for all the complaining I hear about the government, because it means that we have freedom of speech.

for the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with
transportation.

for my huge heating bill, because it means I am warm.

for the lady behind me in church that sings off key, because it means that I can hear.

for the pile of laundry and ironing, because it means I have clothes to wear.

for weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means I have been capable of working hard.

for the alarm that goes of in the early morning hours, because it means that I am alive.

and finally...

for too much e-mail, because it means I have friends who are thinking of me."

This rat hasn't abandoned ship. That's my big picture.

I'm not looking for approval, Rob.
