The only thing I disagree with about that article is the supposition that the Bush people are completely frustrated that the Clinton's keep dominating the headlines. My personal opinion is that the new administration is fully aware of the continuing Clinton story. The thing I like the best about what is going on is the fact that the Democrats and those that support their long-term agenda (and I am not in total disagreement with some of them and some of it) have totally underestimated George Bush and the people that surround him. GWB and the rest of the team are totally aware of the mind-set and the tactics of the Democratic machine. They must be aware of it. There is no way the could not be aware of it. There are so many obvious examples that it is inconceivable that they would not totally understand the tactics. I can think of literally dozens of examples I saw with my own eyes...four that come to mind are David Kendall's public "explanation" of how Billy didn't really lie under oath, (that was utterly hilarious to me and I know the Bush people were watching it too), Al Gore's retraction of his concession (which is the actual reason the Florida thing happened), the astounding "vote" count in Broward County, Florida, with Suzanne Gunzberger manufacturing votes for Gore on national television, and my personal favorite, Al and his family playing Kennedy touch football.

Many Democrat supporters have jumped ship in recent weeks because they feel that Bill and Hillary have somehow "stepped over the line". They didn't see the touch football game the way I saw it. They didn't think David Kendall or David Boise were acting like slimy rats. But GWB and those surrounding him (and many of us) saw these things a long time ago. That's what the Democratic leadership is missing, IMHO. I don't think it has much to do with Democrats and Republicans. I think it has more to do with social values. The people that are engineering the Clinton Show are running it by Neilson ratings, because they can't run it any other way. There is no way for them to consolidate the agenda of all their supporters, because their supporters have agendas that don't overlap very well, and the leadership is too busy trying to patch the inflatable raft that Bill keeps sticking a fork into.

The Bush team, although the supporters do not overlap on several issues, have a much stronger base. The ultra-liberals don't see it yet. They don't see that their foundation is made of sand, the leaders they trust are people that will turn on them instantly and don't give a flying eff about anything but their own personal agenda. They are still missing the fact that it's nothing more than a different episode of the same show; a bad marriage where one partner is unable to control his or her compulsions and the other partner keeps going on television to explain how sad it is and won't you vote for me instead so I can fix it please. The average citizens who support the Democrat's traditional ideals, and who have legitimate interests and rights, are being controlled and manipulated by immoral leaders whom they have not even identified, let alone identified as people that will literally say or do anything.

There is no more shock value, Bill Clinton could be arrested tomorrow for running cocaine, or having millions in a Swiss bank account, or operating a bordello, or anything else, it does not matter, there would be no surprise to the Bush team. Hillary would be very disheartened, Bill would have his attorney give a statement about how the whole thing is not really what it appears to be, and Warren Harding and Abraham Lincoln and Rutherford B. Hayes and Theodore Roosevelt used to do the same thing, and the Clinton supporters would continue to believe that it's all just a plot to make Bill look bad and oppress the unwashed masses.

Nothing Bill or Hillary say or do is a shock any more except to the people that still believe in Bill and Hillary, because Bill and Hillary run on Family Rules, not the actual rules that most other people run on. I think GWB and his team stopped being amazed at the antics of the other team a long time ago. I think they understand what they are dealing with, and suggesting that the general public ignore the antics as much as possible is the best possible strategy. The Clinton team does not understand who they are up against. If you burn a Teflon pan enough, eventually things will stop sliding off and you get a nasty stinky mess.
