Here's the whole paragraph:

Although we are not patent lawyers, based on testimony in the Markman hearing over the last three days, we believe that a more narrow interpretation on the bus issue may occur that could increase Rambus' legal risk. However, we believe the judge may decide to consult his own expert before rendering the Markman opinion which may delay the start of the trial further. In the Markman proceedings, each party presented one expert witness. If the judge decides to adopt the narrower interpretation, we believe Rambus has many claims in its patents that apply beyond the bus.

Edelson Speaking:

TWO PRE-TRIAL HEARINGS CLOSED, TRIAL EXPECTED 3/20
– Pre-trial Markman hearing concluded Feb 28. Opinion expected Mar 13.
Based on three days of pre-trial testimony in the Infineon case, we
believe that a narrow interpretation of bus may occur;
however, the judge may decide to hire his own expert which may delay the
case.
– Pre-trial motion to drop DDR was denied
The judge believed that the issues presented in the factual dispute
would permit a jury to reach a verdict. We believe
Rambus presented well for the motion and it was a no-lose situation.
– Mid-quarter update call on Mar 1 to focus on IDF and legal actions
At IDF, Intel reaffirmed its commitment to Rambus in driving the Pentium
4 transition and announced an investment in
Samsung to boost RDRAM production.
– Trial with Infineon scheduled for March 20. No change in estimates or
rating.
In our view, Rambus investors still face high risk until the trial
begins and may want to hedge their positions."
