It's "Greenspanese". Optical hardware production guys are getting axed. Those who spin the glass fibers are not on this week's lay-off list (as yet).

That's weird, Corning was planning on beefing that division up in December. My perception is that other companies, like Avanex, are more advanced in developing photonic tech these days, they may just be throwing in the towel.
