They have had that debt on their books since the 80s From that Latin america loan frenzy. You can add Brazil, Venezuela and many other LDCs who owe them money. You can always count on the banks to be the last people to the party and then having to pay the bill as everyone else sneeks out the back. I worked for BACs debt desk and it is frightening how inept they are. And even more frightening is that they keep making the same mistakes over and over. Got bad bad tech loans outstanding? You better believe it. M
