I think the mobile commerce as we know it today, will be unsuccessfull and is full of hype. OTOH, I do think that the technology may morph into a commercially viable solution for consumers and businesses.

Glenn actually short messaging is turning into a huge added revenue stream for wireless, and the carriers are trying to figure out if WAP would help accelerate short messaging or if WAP wouldn't make any difference at all.

Heck, who knows- 51 mill WAP phones have been sold in the U.S., yet only 8 mill are being used with WAP! eek !
