Not sure why people are likening this market with 1998. Everything is completely different.

I am beginning to believe that a basic macro-econ class and accounting class should be required for all students in high school (this is not a jab at you).

As far as your "bad news, stock up" theory, we've seen it happen a number of times with a number of stocks unsucessfully. What makes you think that you'll be right in picking the bottom?

Case in point, semiconductor stocks rallying on AMAT's pitiful earnings a few weeks ago have now given up all their gains and broken support. YHOO is another example, I have destroyed the morale of that thread by being right (as usual).

Until you and the Ameritraders break your trigger figures, the market will not bottom. Just ask the Japanese.
