I don't disagree with what you say but the right policies - rarely ever employed - will largely dampen, and perhaps eliminate so-called business cycle effects. A combination of low, untargeted taxes and low interest rates gave rise to the longest period of stability anyone can remember. Successive tax increases and increased government spending finally has dragged the economy to a much slower pace. Let's go back to what got us here and see if it will not work again.
