I wouldn't use the word, whim. That is much too flip. But yes, my moral standard is my own. I consider the right to set my own moral standard an important part of my liberty. It would not be easy to convince me that I have any obligation to live up or down to your moral standard, or to society's, assuming we even know what society's moral standard is, which I don't think we do. Those moral standards that society deems sufficiently important have been codified into law. The rest are user's choice. I think it's immoral for a kid to stand up his date for the prom, but I wouldn't make it illegal. Nor would I have anything to do with that kid.
