Re:Do you realize how pathetic this looks? Intel demonstrated a 0.18 2GHz air cooled P4 processor at last year's IDF. So now they have a 0.13 part running at the same clock?"

Who said it was .13u?

Intel Showed Pentium 4 Northwood [6:40 am] Rat
At IDF Intel showed the next version of its Pentium 4 processor aka Northwood.
Here are some specs for your reference:
0.13 micron manufacturing technology;
mPGA478 form-factor with the integrated heat spreader;
512KB L2 cache, twice the size of Pentium 4 (Willamette) L2 cache;
2GHz minimum clock frequency;
1.3V Vcore;
Sampling started in January;
Mass production scheduled for Q4 2001.

They do say minimum, but they're suddenly a lot quieter about the scaling potential. 2 cycle cache and double speed core? Or just being modest?
