Hey, knock knock
anybody home?

"Remember that MAP is not abortion because the woman is not yet
pregnant, or it wouldn't work."

Hi YYB.
I find this statement to be very curious. First if the woman were not pregnant
then there would be no need to take a pill to kill the conceived child. But
surely you are talking about implantation.

Abortion is generally defined as the termination of a pregnancy. You can define it in new and novel ways- but I was commenting on your statement that you found what YYB said to be "curious"- (note to AJ- see how I used the quotation marks? Greg actually said "curious" so I can put these cute little "" around the word. Neat, huh?) What YYB said was not curious at all. What is curious is that you find a reasonable statement in line with dictionary definitions to be curious. The definition of pregnancy, implantation, etc- have nothing to do with your abhorrence for killing little protohumans. The definition is separate from your feelings. I know it's hard to accept that, and you may not be able to, but if you pick up the dictionary, open it, and look up abortion, maybe you'll figure it out. Or not.

Do I take it you're against birth control pills then? They don't prevent fertilization or ovulation alone, but also prevent implantation if fertilization occurs.

Now you're starting a whole new discussion.

Try to stick to the point.

Are petri dishes pregnant when eggs are fertilized in vitro?
If injected into a hopeful woman, and they fail to implant she hasn't had a miscarriage or abortion.
She may choose to mourn the life of those whatevers, those potential children of her dreams, but she was never pregnant.

Remember that MAP happens with no confirmation of of fertilization.
Some large percentage never conceived.
The woman has chosen to make a responsible early choice, just in case.
MAP is not abortion. It is post (possible) fertilization pregnancy prevention.

"To cause the death of a person is killing... fully human, and unique from the moment of conception... I see no difference... "
All spoken in the voice of a Christian parrot.
