Which likely applies to me as well. The problem is that smart people are sometimes full of hubris. To this day Steve Jobs has a real hard time admitting to a mistake (although he's getting better at it)...

bad assumption. many people reasonably and rationally laid out amzn's future 3 years ago. right on this thread. while bezos was touting fantasy and ignoring reality, many on this thread were exposing him as the doof he is.

he is better connected than us, that is all.

I believe the situation is totally opposite. Bezos knows how to work the stock market. That was his training. He is as dumb as a rock as a retailer in my opinion and you seem to know the problems he faces. I am not sure he even is aware of them. He is likely focused more on raising cash than efficient and proper retail marketing.
