To say that the program was sustainable in 1935 it means you would have had to rely on continuing population growth. That would mean relying on a projection of the future. Your party had the benefit of a contrary view which was that the program should be actuarially founded. You chose not to do that. As it has become clear that you made the wrong choice then you have refused to do anything about the problem and still refuse to do anything about it. Instead of critcising others why don't you propose a solution?
