I love those long term charts because they demonstrate just how ridiculous prices had gotten. Is it a bargain to buy a stock that's 90% of its high when it is still up 200% from its 1998-9 price? Some are. Many aren't.

With half a chance, many of these stocks will overshoot on the downside. Assuming no economic calamity, many may well be trading BELOW the old trend line (the one before the moonshot of late 1998) and thereby become a true value instead of just one that is discounted from a ludicrously high price.

Getting there unscathed requires patience and discipline.
