"I'm sure that 2 GHz is a brick wall limit for Intel "

You have to admit that it seems to be. Look, if Intel is getting more conservative about the stuff that it is flashing around, so much the better. Remember the 1GHz PIII they demo'd? Yah know, the super-cooled one. About a year before they actually started to ship PIIIs at anywhere near that speed. Remember the P4 demo? About a year before they actually started to ship them (ok, 9 months). Remember the P4 briefly touching 2GHz? When will it ship? According to Intel's roadmap, well maybe 9-12 months after the demo. So now the best they can demo a P4 at 0.13 micron is 2GHz? Admittedly their 0.13 micron process is new and they may not have worked all the kinks out, but...

Based on history then, we might see that chip in November, possibly next year. Unless, of course, they are getting more conservative.

AMD is not claiming a 2GHz processor before ClawHammer. If they can really reach 1.5GHz in 0.18 micron, you would expect that 2GHz is doable in 0.13 micron. Of course, AMD likely won't have portions of the chip double-pumped...
