You can go on worshiping Greenspan if you want, but he'll be remembered more for causing the worst bear market in modern history than you think. Oh I agree. The lemmings will blame his actions from 1999 - present. The people that know history, economics, etc. will blame his actions from 1995 - 1999. Either way, he's the fall guy. He even knew what would happen if his plan blew up (rather ironic timing on this I might add, feb 2000): Message 14422582

k... wherever did you get the idea I worship Greenspan??? He "caused" the meltdown just as much as he "caused" the meltup. Netting the two together, he "caused" less than no harm if anything at all. The dude is human. Not for worshiping. Those who are attracting consequences induced by their intelligence, lack thereof, greed or whatever... they deserve everything they get. Got. Are getting. Blaming it on someone else convenient and obvious is irresponsibly. IMNSHO. As to you being annoyed? Thank's for the feedback. ...although PMSW respects... That respect was earned through posts with logical thinking, clearly expressed, supported by evidence, and presented with a courteous demeanor. We differ in our views because we differ in our goals. You will get your turn too. Patience, courage, and a plan will enable us to reach our goals. It gets dark at night, but doesn't stay that way forever. Cheers, PW. P.S. I think Greenspan's main job is to protect the currency, not investors. I also think bear and bull markets change for a variety of complex reasons, and very likely a confluence of more than one is needed to alter the course of a long established trend.
