Here were your exact words as of June 21, 2000, which indicate to the reader that you had changed your bearish tone some 8-9 months ago and that anything below 2900 would be terrific, so please don't attempt to do the "I told ya so thingie": "I believe we could see a market bottom within 6 weeks somewhere between 2800-2900 on the Nasdaq. Anywhere below that would be an absolute steal that would REQUIRE any sane and rational human being to BUY. I hope you notice that this is my first change of tone in quite a while." Since you got financially hammered ala the Kimmie debacle, I can understand your angst and not posting for some time, so let me bring you up to date here: As my posts on the George W thread have indicated on at least 10 separate occassions, I moved most of my cash quite some time ago to real estate, bonds and cash...yes, still some minor cash in the markets...just enough to spread on a ritz, but not enough to post on the threads, which you may also have noticed. As I recall, your posts changed with the wind and while there were predictions of doom and gloom, the minute we saw the slightest rally, you changed your predictions accordingly...even a broken clock is correct at least twice per day...watch me, I will now predict that the markets will SOME DAY go back up...how's that for deep thinking, so while you were doing the sky is falling dance, many of us were making money both on the very respectable runnup at the time you predicted the gloom and the run down. As for me, I made some and I lost some, but came out very nicely ahead and had enough smarts to cash out a decent chunk on the first wave of trouble (some, not enough) and then again when I viewed the election situation as being anything but ugly for one's portfolio. The other difference between you and I was that I always had this terrific day job and trading for me has and will always be an after thought and these days I have a professional money manager looking after my porfolio vs myself. Much more prudent than I and allows me to focus more on family and career. Only cuz you brought it up, the reason so many folks attacked you in those days on your own thread was a) your fickle view on the markets and b) the fact that you were so self righteous even when you were dead wrong for so long on not only your predictions, but also on individual stock picks. I find it funny that you now need to hype your warnings in the last couple days on so many threads much in the same way as you used to hype your QCOM short (remember that nastiness?!) or your other beauties...I also remember you making some sort of goofy public apology on the CSCO thread and promising never to post again if you were wrong on the call...well, you were wrong. I made so much money using you as a contrarian indicator it makes me want to yelp like a dog, and for that I thank you. Just for laughs: Puffy prediction on Naz 2800 by May 24...actual Naz as of that date 3950!!!Message 13909734 ...and again after losing a bet on market predictions and CSCO:Message 13925655 ...just another terrific Puffy call!:Message 13923549 ...and in happier times:Message 13924408
