Rory,

Oracle's news may partially explain why Siebel's stock increased 17% today. :) Seriously, the two companies barely compete in the CRM space. In my mind, whether or not Oracle (the company) does well doesn't have a lot of impact on whether or not Siebel does well. More important, I wouldn't be concerned about Siebel over the long term just because their growth slows in a slowing economy so I sure wouldn't be concerned about Siebel over the long term jsut because Oracle's growth slows in a slowing economy.

The PEG looks good even at 50%.

Huh? I can't imagine even the rosiest estimates coming up with a PEG as low as 0.5. Where did you find that? (Don't tell me that you calculated it. Tee hee. :)

Mike could you tell me why you disagree with consensus growth estimates?

For the answer to that, check out: boards.fool.com

However, be aware that there is a typo in that post. The next to last paragraph begins with, "Using an EPS of $1.27 in 2002, the resulting PEG is 1.45." Change $1.27 to $1.52 as explained earlier in the post and you've got it right.

By the way, at today's closing price of $44.625 and the same assumptions desribed in that post written a week ago, the PEG is 1.21.
