Interesting...I thought the 840 and the 850 were rock solid. Are the "IT Nazis" really concerned abou the crummy old 820?

Like NT 4.0 vs. Windows 2000. At a certain point it is time to look forward.

"There are problems with putting DDR into systems," said Dieter Mackowiak, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Samsung.

Interesting...

Hi all; Samsung said that RDRAM needs to be only 5-10% more expensive than DDR in order to keep DDR from growing, two months ago:

"There are problems with putting DDR into systems," said Dieter Mackowiak, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Samsung.

The lower volumes of DDR also mean that it won't be that much cheaper than Rambus.

"If the price point delta is just 5 to 10 percent, customers will go to Rambus," Mackowiak said.

But in those 2 months, DDR dropped in price much quicker, and now looks to be about half the price of RDRAM. Does anybody know what that means???
