From the post you linked: I personally know of many people that have lost well over 6 digit fortunes in the last year. This is all money that could have been used to keep this economy going but now it's gone and lost forever in stock market heaven, or hell, depends how you want to look at it. Call it mass delusion, call it what you will but just because people made profits on the way up feeding the mania, doesn't make it a correct model of doing things. There were plenty of opportunities to step off the elevator on the way up, and on the way down.
