I agree with your points regarding Oracle not being a serious competitor in CRM space, but I do have some concerns because Siebel's applications are built on top of a relational database (Oracle, DB2, Sybase, and MS-SQLServer). Any slowdown in relational database sales is some cause for concern:

Many Fortune 1000 customers have decided on a database vendor, and already have site licenses. They do not need additional database products to run Siebel's applications. IMO, for this set of customers, database sales slowdown does not have much co-relation to Siebel sales. [Oracle's applications are sold to customers who already have Oracle databases]

I am not so certain about mid-market customers. This was a fast growing area for Siebel. IMO, relational database sales slowdown may be some cause for concern. However if most of these customers are using DB2, MSSQL, etc. then this may not pose a problem.

In summary, I am somewhat concerned about the slowdown. On the other hand Oracle can massage their results in so many ways that it is impossible to conclude anything from what they say.
