the shorts have to be careful not to make the same mistakes on the way down, which the longs made on the way up. When targets are reached, we should step back and reassess the situation. There is a lot of fear out there as measured by the VXN and high tic readings. Also, there has been a lot of money moving to the sidelines to "wait out the bear". These are not the sentiments conducive to further downside, in the the short term unless the BK really does happen. We are as close to the BK as I've ever seen and been able to discern before the actual event (ie since I started actually paying attention to the markets). I'm actually frightened here! But, I can't play the market expecting such an event. IMO, it is either best to stand aside, or go long contrary to the fear which I am seeing. Playing the short side for a crash is a low probability event. I won't buy individual stocks here though, because I just don't see good set ups. Everything here, for me, is strictly fund plays.

PS Did I mention that I'm frightened!
