heinz,

I have all my cash at MSDW in their government fund. You have to ask them to transfer your MM funds to the MSDW US GVT MYMKT symbol SGMT, and they will sweep it. The IRA's are a little bit more tricky, I have to call them when I know there is some cash moving into the account and have them move the money from the crony MM to the SGMT. I an making sure that all my "cash" assets are FDIC insured or in government funds. Of course some of these government funds have GSE's but it is better than telcos. <ggg>

Merrill Lynch is much easier to work with as they have FDIC insured MM's that automatically sweep every night, you just have to keep generating enough accounts so none of them exceed the FDIC insured limit. <ggg>

Joan

heinz,

I don't know what kind of a deal you have with MSDW for bonds, but I was able to negotiate a better deal with Merrill Lynch for bonds.
