"child" Well since it looks like we are being held to strict, and literal meanings for words used here then perhaps the term child is not accurate. If "child" is a stage of development that a human being passes through, like toddler or adolescent, then the conceptus is perhaps not yet at that stage. I was using the term loosely, to indicate that at conception, a new, and unique human being has come into existence and is therefore entitled to the same protection as any other human being. I don't like the term "potential "child,"" because it seems to deny, the full humanity of the unborn, from the moment of conception. This new entity, is not a potential human, it is a human with great potential,(although it is yet unrealized). All the genetic information that is needed for an entire lifetime is present from the moment the sperm and the egg combine to form the single celled zygote, and the entire process of life, From conception to death, is simply the unfolding of these various stages As one writer put it; you did not come from a zygote, you once were a zygote; you did not come from an embryo, you once were an embryo; you did not come from a fetus, you once were a fetus; you did not come from an adolescent, you once were an adolescent. Consequently, each one of us has experienced these various developmental stages of life. None of these stages, however, imparted to us our humanity. F.J. Beckwith So then if I were to restate what I said, to make it more factually and grammatically correct, then it would read instead... "Specifically it is the unborn human being that is TERMINATED. That killing happens irrespective of implantation >> My point is that, by taking the MAP, a human life is being purposely allowed to perish. This is the purpose of all abortion. To say that an abortion has not taken place because there was no pregnancy, may be accurate in a twisted sort of way. However that is not to say that the death of an innocent human being has not occurred. So in that respect, implantation/pregnancy is not really relevant, since the outcome is the same, no matter what you call it. Greg PS. Sorry I failed to get back to you prior. Have a good evening
