I know people who have adopted children from China, Russia, and Central America. All lovely people. Not a racist in the lot. All of them are making efforts to provide their kids contact with their birth cultures. The couple with the Chinese baby will shortly be leaving for a foreign service assignment in China. I don't know anyone who has adopted a child in the US. I can't imagine why anyone would adopt a severely disabled child.

Yes, those kind of people who want to adopt "racially clean" babies remind me of so-called dog lovers who want only certified purebreds and will throw a poor mutt out into the street or give it to the pound where the odds are it will be killed. (the words put to sleep make it too easy on people) I myself am racially mixed, and see no disadvantages to that other than dealing with the ignorant prejudice some fools still have these days toward folks like me. Actually, just as mutts in the dog world can make the best companions and have above average intelligence, the same is true with human beings.
Personally I only believe in abortion if the woman is raped, the reason being that her impregnation was done totally against her will, so that trumps saving the babies life in my opinion. Otherwise, abortion should be avoided as much as humanly possible and emphasis placed on birth control and training young people to have higher standards of morality where they will care more about their own future and the future world of their offspring. Have a very nice weekend! (No watching stocks for two whole days, alright!) Yogi
