As I said, on the whole, we got quite lucky. But there is enough damage to go around, the total is estimated at around $2 billion right now. There were some landslides, but nothing like there would have been had we had saturated soils. It started pouring rain today...

We have some major bridges with major problems, the control tower at the airport is shot...but thankfully the region has been spending many million on seismic retrofitting and it paid off.

This is the sort of event that could cause Mt Rainier to come back to life.....lets hope there is a few century delay on that cause/effect scenario.
