$5/share times 340 million shares = $1.7 Billion

According to the consolidated financial statement from last quarter the company's other assets were as follows:

Investments were $581 million
Property and Equipment $694 million
Inventories $200+ million
Intangibles $362 million

Total $1.837 billion

We all know most of 3Com's real estate was purchased over a decade ago and that prices have sky rocketed in Santa Clara. For this reason I feel it would be safe to attribute a factor greater than 2, which would manifest over a billion dollars in lieu of $694 million in that line item.

This would leave us a Book value greater than $12.
