D.O'B: The earlier revolutions were all concerned with material goods. The consumption of these goods/person cannot be expanded . Infact we are quite saturated . At best prices can be held steady. Since both parents now have to work outside the home, there is a demand for service. The aging population will also add to this problem.

The problem for service can be solved by one of 3 methods. The home becomes an extension of the Office allowing one member to do both Office work and family service. The other alternative is developing more intelligent animals using gene splicing methods.. Lastly the development of robots may also be a solution.

All 3 methods require very fast and reliable communications which in turn require Optical networks. The trouble is that we have the Optical/3G networks ; plenty of dark fibre but few Consumers willing to pay for it. The reason is simple . None of the 3 methods of service have been accepted /introduced in Society in any meaningful way.

Solving the service problem will automatically boost modern communications to a new level.
