Well, when the US falls into another severe recession or depression, I don't think the people will do as well as they have in Japan. Yes, Japan's stock market and economy have problems, but at least the Japanese people have been pretty well insulated from the effects. The American people will not have that luxury.

Which market is closer to a bottom right now -- US or Japan?

I have to admit, and I may just be a nationalist, but I find it hard to compare this country-- economically or politically -- with Japan. Hence, I think our markets will recover more quickly
