MOT makes the phones and contributes iDEN IPR and QCOM makes the dual-band chips. Does this make sense?

Actually, I don't see why Q would even bother with dual mode chips. MOT should be able to fit lots of extra chips into those huge Nextel phones<g>.

It does sound awkward, but what if Nextel completely drops Iden and doesn't worry about backward compatibility, and furnishes each customer with a free CDMA phone? Then we don't need MOT in there right?
