From what I have heard and read. AG and WA didn't really get along. However I also do not believe that AG held back because of WA. That was just an added perk for AG. And WA was making deliberate attempt to cast AG is a dimmer light than the public has already sees him; and to get some of his b"big money" clients out of the market.

This way, the public can still blame someone else for their own bubblevision.
