Same perspective at this end. The U.S. is nowhere near as financially able to handle a burst bubble. No savings, huge debts, etc.

The only item that may make a difference is that in the U.S., once problems are identified, they tend to be met head-on and there is a built-in desire to "take the hit, get it behind us, get on with the clean-up". For that reason, I personally believe that once folks in the U.S. DO see what a mess things are, the markets will be cratered quickly and thoroughly. So far, there is minimal evidence that the required recognition is at hand.
