Too bad Clinton vetoed the GOP tax cut last year, we'd be in so much better shape now. So his parting gift to a grateful nation is the Clinton-Gore recession and Clinton-Gore Bear Market. No wonder the nation is so grateful - that he's gone from power.

Bush will keep the Dems from raiding the Social Security Trust Fund and spending the surplus, just as the GOP did when they protected both from Clinton three years ago.

Nadine ...

>>>>>>My wish is that Bush should respect the recommendations of the bipartisan committee that created the Social Security Trust fund, and explain how any changes from their proposals now will be funded, instead of appealing to the magic powers of privitization.

As I have no horse in this race (as AG just said on tv right now ..ggggg) ...
as this option *(should it come, will be too late for me)
and
thankfully, when I draw SS in a few years, I won't be dependant upon it for keeping the wolf away from the door
as I well know many will ...

but

as to your comments ...
and NOT being an expert as are so many on this thread
...
just what was this "intent" ...

in my pitiful state of ignorance, I labor under the impression that this SocialSecurityTrustFund is, indeed, not even a reality ...
what is the balance from years past ???????
carryover balances ????

Your guy, Clinton, rejected the findings of the bipartisan committee. Now you want to wave those in front of us? Write Clinton a letter.
